False Creek, Vancouver
$100
18" x 24"
False Creek is a place Vancouver hasn’t quite finished. The seawall curves past condo towers and vacant lots that have sat empty since Expo 86. Science World’s geodesic dome glows at one end, the Olympic Village brightens the other, but still feels like a city waiting to fill in the gaps. Yet, there’s a charm strolling through this unfinished patch that stands in contrast to the polished, sleek surroundings.

Britt So
Dropping out of art school forced Britt So to rethink what it meant to create. It wasn’t about titles but about process—observing, responding, and shaping something new. She eventually returned to Emily Carr, bringing with her a deeper understanding of art as both intellectual and instinctive. Now, she leads an urban green initiative, applying the same patience and intuition to cultivating land as she does to her art.
“Beautiful in its own quiet way.”
"For years, False Creek was part of my daily commute — morning and night, rain or shine. No matter the season, it always felt beautiful in its own quiet way. The mountains steady in the distance, the SkyTrain’s familiar chime, and kids excitedly making their way to Science World. This piece serves as a tribute to the small, everyday magic unfolding across False Creek.”
